The Board of the Northern Rivers General Practice Network welcomes two new members to its ranks.

Dr Lynne Davies and Dr Kayte Evans were appointed by the Board at its March meeting to fill the vacancy left by Dr David Stirling who resigned late last year due to increasing work commitments. Their appointments bring the Board numbers to seven, one more than the six required by the Constitution.

Dr Davies has been a long standing member of the Network and has previously been a Board member. As the former principal of the Tintenbar Medical Centre, she brings a wealth of practical experience in general practice management to the Board. She is renowned nationally for her work in practice improvement and is Chair of the Coronary Heart Disease: Expert Reference Panel at the Improvement FoundationShe retired from her practice last year and is now doing both local and locum relief work around Australia in rural and remote health.

Dr Evans has spent many years working in indigenous health in the Northern Territory, South East Asia and now the North Coast. She also has a passion for rural GP education and in recent years has been a core member of the  North Coast General Practice Training team, as well as a mentor in the FARGP program. She currently splits her working week between Bullinah AHS in Ballina and NCGPT

The Board welcomes both Lynne and Kayte to the Board and greatly appreciates the expertise in training and indigenous health that they bring.
